Cookie Policy
Welcome to appliednutrition.uk (our Website), operated by Applied Nutrition plc (a company registered in England and Wales with company number 09131749). We collect information about Website users and our customers via cookies, pixels (web beacons) and social plug-ins to improve the functionality of, and your experience on, our Website, to gather data so we and our partners can analyse Website traffic and understand how you use our Website, deliver advertising and marketing communications to you as well as tailored adverts, and monitor the effectiveness of these advertising and marketing materials.
The below explains the technologies we use, what they are used for, as well as how you can disable the cookies we use.
Your privacy is important to us, and you can read more about your privacy and how we protect it, as well as the personal data we collect about you and your legal rights in relation to it, by clicking here.
What are cookies, pixels and other technologies we use?
1. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, mobile device and/or browser by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more effectively, as well as to provide information to the owners of a website. The information collected in this way may be used to identify you unless you opt out of non-essential cookies on a website, but none of our cookies store any credit/debit card information nor your password details.
Cookies are used for many purposes. Detailed below are the categories of, as well as the individual, cookies that we use, what they are used for, and how long we use them for (which is either until you next close your browser (a session), or a specific period of time).
2. Pixels
Pixels (also known as web beacons) are pieces of code contained on our Website or within email communications from us to you which track how you interact with certain content you may access.
We also use pixels to identify and track Website users and to facilitate the delivery of targeted advertising.
3. Social plug-ins
Social plug-ins are items of software which we use to embed certain social media tools into our Website. This may result in the provider of that tool (subject to your consent) storing a cookie on your device or browser, which may (sometimes irrespective of whether you have clicked on the relevant tool) result in personal data about you automatically being collected by and/or shared with that provider. We might be provided with access to your personal data by the third party.
Information which may be collected might include, for example, how you use our Website, your internet protocol (IP) address, your location, and information relating to your browser and computer (such as your operating system and what internet browser you are using).
Third parties may use your personal data for their own purposes, for example, to profile and target you with other advertising. We use the following third parties' social plug-ins on our Website:
a. Instagram;
b. TikTok;
c. LinkedIn;
d. YouTube; and
e. Facebook.
We use social plug-ins to allow you to click through to our social media business pages.
You can find out more information in our Privacy Policy.

We have set out more information below on the third parties we use, and the information they may receive.
1. Google
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies or other tracking technologies to help us analyse how users interact with the Website, compile reports on their activity, and provide other services related to their activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as your IP address, time of visit, whether you are a returning visitor, and any referring website. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies.
We use Google AdSense, a web advertising service provided by Google, Inc. to create and review and analyse the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. 3. Hotjar
We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimise the Website's service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g., how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and do not like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behaviour and their devices. This includes a device’s IP address (captured and stored only in anonymised form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and preferred language used to display our Website. Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile (this means that the information will continue to be treated as personal information but it has been temporarily de-identified as an additional security measure). Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf. For further details, please see Hotjar’s privacy policy. You can opt-out to the creation of a user profile, Hotjar’s storing of data about your usage of our Website and Hotjar’s use of tracking cookies on other websites by following the directions found here.
